On Tuesday, 5A travelled to Microsoft’s new state of the art building in Leopardstown, to visit their amazing purpose built digital ‘Dream Space.’
We made the short journey by bus and upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the facilitators, Amanda and Enrica.
We were taken on a short tour of the facility and shown around the amazing modern building.
After our tour, we had healthy refreshments before it was time for some coding. The children were taught how to programme a Micro Bit to carry out various functions and tasks.
After our session with the Micro Bits, the class got the opportunity to make their own virtual reality videos around the theme of ‘The 17 Global Goals.’
Before we concluded our visit, we took some time out to remember Sophia’s father, Paul, who worked for Microsoft. There is a lovely memorial dedicated to him on the third floor.
We had an amazing day in Dream Space and would like to thank Amanda and Enrica from the Microsoft Education team, for making our day such a memorable one.
