Tom’s Trees Are Back!
We’re delighted to announce that we have paired up once again with Tom’s Trees to bring gorgeous Christmas trees to our school community.
Once upon a time, Harry Oakley, a former student in our school, had a brilliant idea. “My grandfather grows the most beautiful Christmas trees you have ever seen. Would METNS families like to buy their trees from my granddad Tom at the school and Tom will share the money raised with the school”? A seed was sown and from it Tom’s Trees has grown. Tom has become a household name in the hearts and homes of our METNS Community.
Last year, Tom’s Trees sold over 90 Christmas trees and raised over €2,000 for new equipment in our children’s classrooms. A 10% donation is also made to Focus Ireland.
We can’t wait to welcome all our loyal customers who have returned year after year (even after their children have have left METNS) and welcome all new families willing to join a win-win fundraising initiative.
Collection
Please note that all trees will be pre-netted for ease of transport home and it thus won’t be possible to see the trees on full display at the collection point. In the unlikely event you’re unable to find a suitable tree on your chosen collection day, we are happy to refund your order.
Trees can be collected at the staff car park on:
- Sunday 3rd December – 10 AM to 12-Noon
- Wednesday 6th December – 7 PM to 8 PM
- Friday 8th December – 7 PM to 8 PM
If there is any METNS family who needs support to acquire a tree this year, just drop an email to ‘mca@metns.ie’ and a member of the team will sort a tree for you in confidence.
