4B took a trip this week to Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute to take part in a workshop entitled “Bugs and Beyond”. The children learned about different types of bacteria and how there can be both good and bad bacteria in your body. They also learned about how your body protects itself against different types of bacteria that can make you sick. The team of scientists there put together an amazing workshop with a great variety of hands on activities, presentations and games. There was even a break in the wind and rain afterwards that allowed the class to have a picnic lunch in Merrion Square and play in the playground there before heading back to school on the bus.
