On behalf of the children and staff of METNS, from January 2019 onwards, we are asking parents/guardians not to use one off plastic bottles for the children’s school lunches. Please use re-fillable bottles and/or the children can use the water in the classrooms.
If we consider 183 school days a year times 8 years, that’s a potential saving of 1,464 bottles per student! or 82,167 per year given 449 students! Think of energy saved & pollution reduced in not making the bottle, not filling it with processed tap water, not transporting it… Just a few of the extraordinary impacts from one little bottle of water filled with liquid that is pouring out of our taps and down our loos!
