On Wednesday, February 21st, the Green Team hosted an environmental fair in the hall.
They had displays on the topics of our overuse of plastic, how it ends up in the oceans; Fairtrade, one-use takeaway cups and our overuse of plastic straws. They transferred the results of the survey that had gone to the school community about family commitments to the environment, into bar-charts and explained this to the children and the adults.
Both 5th classes produced magnificent works of art based on plastic and these where incredibly popular and much admired.
It was a really successful exhibition of nearly 2 years’ worth of work, and enjoyed by every child in the school and lots of adults. We will put up the display again on Tuesday 26th Feb., when we are officially reviewed for our 6th Green Flag. We think we have earned it for sure!
